John Rick Miller Lent Reflection

Our world is changing very quickly. There are over 40 nations at this time that are involved in armed conflict. There have been more people killed in armed conflict in the last hundred years then all of the past centuries combined.In many nations there are now leaders who are trying to control those nations in not only a dictatorial manner, extinguishing the God given rights of every human being to have freedom of choice, expression and liberty, but in changing the laws of those nations into a anathema against the Commandments of God.As we start Lent and Holy Week, we are reminded of the times when Our Lord Jesus was on earth. A time when the Roman Empire removed the general freedoms of the Jews and treated their laws as superfluous. A time when paganism ruled the world. A time when the faith of the Jews cried out to God to once again deliver them from tyranny.History always goes in a full circle. We have once again reached a time in world history where paganism and all that it contains once again is beginning to rule over those of faith as we now are serving more false gods / idols then ever before in our history. Once again the children of God must cry out to their Father in Heaven to save them from these abominations against life, family, purity, freedom, justice....right from wrong. We must do this now through the only two things which will produce a change in the world, prayer and personal change.In this time of Lent, let us reflect upon these times and the condition of the world. If things are ever going to change it must first be through you and I. If the one person who can change, you, refuses, then how can we expect the world to improve or change. You must be the one to effect that change through your daily life with God as it's centre. Each day, every day.May our Lenten Resolution be to make time for God each day, prioritizing our time so that God is present at the beginning, the middle and the end of our day. Let us all dedicate every day of Lent to Our Father in Heaven praying unceasingly from our heart.May the Holy Spirit help you during Lent and Holy Week to understand what you need to do in order that you can say wholeheartedly " Lord, I am your servant, let it be done to me according to Your Will."
