God bless each of you who have offered your prayers and sacrifices for this old preacher. Many of you have very kindly asked how the treatment is going so I will endeavor to keep it short but bring you up to date.In late February, early March I suffered an infection from the chemo therapy. It became so bad that they had to stop the chemo and put me on a very heavy combination dose of antibiotics for 10 days.Thank God the infection stopped and the chemo therapy resumed the third week of March. However, on resuming the chemo drugs that I take intravenously I began to have very bad pain in my left arm so they had to switch arms for the rest of the day. Little did I know why. It seems as if the people putting in the drugs nicked the wall of the vein causing a small hole and the drug leaked out into the arm.Since these drugs are basically poison my arm over the next few days and weeks became worse and worse. The hand swelled, the arm became so bad I could not touch it and so on. I was told wait and see as it is a side effect of the drug. Then last Sunday suddenly out of nowhere there was an incredible pain in the left arm that lasted some time and when I looked at the arm I saw a long very raised black line that went from the bend in the arm, up over the muscle and down into the arm pit and over into the chest area.I went to the hospital to be told that I had a thrombosis and I was very lucky as it had shot a good size blood clot that stopped just short of my heart. The arm continues to cause a non-stop deep pain but I am told that in time hopefully it will reside and things may go back to normal but it may take up to six months. They then added but it may be a permanent disability with muscle and tissue damage and extreme sensitivity to temperature.I had to laugh. The enemy is getting desperate to knock me off. Thank God he can only go to a certain point but not beyond.Other than that I am feeling much better most days as my body is learning to live with all of these chemo therapy drugs that I am on (two different drugs monthly and now a third at the rate of 20 per day). But by the Grace of God I remain happy through all of this and I am aided in this struggle by all of the leaders in the Mission that are continuing to do such a wonderful job at building foundations for the Mission throughout the Americas and in the world. I am completely at peace enjoying my family ( although I think they are not enjoying me much as I tend to like being waited on ) and I firmly believe but hope that I will be back among you very soon by the Grace, Mercy and Love of God.Thank you again for all of your prayers. God bless each of you abundantly.May the Risen Lord be with each of you during this Holy Week and may you be given a quiet moment in these days to stop and understand what a gift your life truly is and within that what you have been given in your family. All my love Rick
