Panama

John Rick Miller visited Panama for the first time in the year 2008, a year before he founded the Mission and returned each year giving talks in different cities. In the year 2009, he presented the Mission to the Archbishop of Panama, Msgr. Jose Dimas Cedeño, and to the Apostolic Nuncio, Msgr. Andres Carrascosa Coso. In that year, the first chapel of adoration sponsored by the Mission and local benefactors was inaugurated.

2010 was a very active year for the Mission in Panama. In January the Mission was presented to the bishops of Panama at the Episcopal Conference. In April, Msgr. Jose Domingo Ulloa was appointed as the new Archbishop of Panama and the Mission was presented to him receiving his permission to continue its work in Panama. In May the National Police was consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Later that year John Rick was received by the first lady, Marta Linares and several consecrations took place, including that of 17 parishes, various companies and universities and 4 additional chapels of adoration were opened.

In 2011 the Office of the First Lady was consecrated to the Two Hearts as well as the Ministry of Education, and of Social Development as well as the Prison for women. John Rick was received by the President of Panama in May to whom he also presented the Mission. He also visited the Bishop of the diocese of Santiago who consecrated the Police of Veraguas. And was able to meet with the plenary of the Supreme Court of Justice who days later made their consecration to the Two Hearts. This was a historic event, for no other country in Latin America has Consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary its Judicial System and its officials. During this visit of our founder, there was also the consecration of the Attorney General’s Office and the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Later this year the Police Academy of Panama, the Judicial Body of Chorrera, the National Naval Service, the city of Anton, five schools, several parishes and a university were also consecrated to the Two Hearts in addition to more chapels of adoration being established.

In 2012, John Rick Miller came back to Panama and met with the President of the Legislative Assembly, Hector Aparicio, and with the president of the Association of Spouses of Deputies, Lidia Aparicio. After the meeting he was invited to give a lecture to the staff of the Assembly at their facilities. At the end of the month, the Consecration of the Legislative Assembly of Panama to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary was held. In April, the National Aqueduct and Sewer Institute was consecrated. During the month of July Msgr. Oscar Mario Brown consecrated the Diocese of Santiago. Two more chapels of adoration were started and different consecrations were organized in parishes, in addition to the consecration of the Mayor of Panama. Finally, we had the honor of hosting the 3rd International Congress of the Mission. The opening Mass was celebrated by Msgr. Oscar Mario Brown, and the Archbishop of Panama who was out of the country at the time, sent us his blessing through a video. We had the participation of the Apostolic Nuncio, Msgr. Andres Carrascosa Coso, of the then vice-president and president of Panama, of the former president of the Supreme Court of Justice, the former president of the National Assembly and of the Minister of Education, Lucy Molinar.

In the following years, we have continued with the work of consecrations to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in many parishes, schools, non-profit organizations, youth encounters and companies, including the annual walk for families that the archdiocese organizes. We also began with consecrations to the Chaste Heart of St. Joseph in different parishes on March 19th and the 1st of May.

Many prayer cenacles have also been established in Panama and other cities and in the year 2016 we began fully with the Home Enthronement Program of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which has had a good welcoming in several parishes and many homes. We have even had the grace of enthroning Our Lady in the National Police.
