On Friday, December 8th, 2017 at 10:00 am, the 5th renewal of the Consecration of the Armed Forces and the National Police to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary took place, The Basilica of the National Vow, was the venue of this Act.
The ceremony was presided by Monsignor René Coba Galarza, Military Bishop of Ecuador. Monsignor recalled that the YES they gave to God in its renewal, is a Yes of brave people, people who leave their personal comfort to put themselves at the service of others, as Jesus did. That YES is to tell Mother Mary, "here we are, guide us, tell us how to be close to your Son".
After the renewal, commemorative plaques were given to each commanders of the Armed Forces and the national Police branches.
After the renewal ceremony, all the faithful present were invited to join in the procession with the Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, starting from the Basilica of the National Vow, to Saint Sebastian Parish. The procession that lasted 2 hours, counted with the participation of groups and bands of various schools and Catholic groups who wanted to honor the Morenita. The procession was led by military and police delegations, who were the sponsors of this event.
Our Lady of Guadalupe was received at Saint Sebastian Parish, with joy, hope and gratitude, and the people participated in the Enthronement Ceremony with great faith.
