Msgr. Ramon Castro, Bishop of Cuernavaca in Mexico, presided the Consecration of the Diocese to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, which took place on June 21st at the Cathedral. The prelate signed a document where it states the consecration and invited all the faithful to join in the consecration that comprises all the state of Morelos, consecrating themselves and their families. “With an act we have consecrated everything we do and have to the Sacred Hearts”, announced the Bishop in his twitter. “Blessed be God!”The act of Consecration was marked by the request of the gift of peace for the region and the protection of the families as well as by the prayer for priestly and religious vocations and for the evangelization. The Diocese had prepared for the Consecration through a series of catechesis and pastoral aids in what was a Eucharist Week from June 15th to the 21st. During that week the Church promoted the adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, which was exposed continuously, and preached on the essential value of the sacrament of the Eucharist and motivated the participation of laity, religious and priests from various groups, communities and apostolic movements. On the day of the Consecration, held in the Solemn Closing Mass of the Eucharistic Week, there was a great procession with the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Cuernavaca. More than 1,500 faithful attended, including Catholic politicians. Just before the act of consecration the presence of the saints was invoked and the Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe donated by the Mission, entered in solemn procession. At the end of the consecration of the state and of the diocese, Msgr. Castro proceeded with the prayer of consecration of the families to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The event was broadcasted by Maria Vision so the faithful could join in the consecration from their homes. We thank Fr. Israel Tapia, whose contribution was invaluable to this Consecration.
